If you are an experienced Merchandise Planner with a desire to work in a growing Web Division….Read On! The Successful candidate will be responsible for driving traffic via the web by advising team on optimum stock plans and stock ratio allocations. The Sr. Merchandise planner will have strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to adapt and learn broad enterprise perspectives, with focus, commitment, accountability and a sense of urgency to drive the execution of results. Specifically:
Develop weekly, monthly, and seasonal stock unit forecasts for assigned merchandise categories on the web and in monthly catalogs.
Review, analyze, and report on actual sales versus forecasts by product types, identifying sales opportunities and explaining resultant forecast revisions.
Recommend enhancements that can improve platform conversion and efficiencies utilizing such metrics as Coremetrics, Google Analytics, Bazaarvoice, and Mybuys.
Perform detailed trend analyses for products. Evaluate related historical performance, marketing strategy, and initial sales performance for new products. Provide recommendations for deletion and exit strategies for existing products based on trend analysis. Provide feedback for web exclusive merchandise with in your categories
Manage pre-season planning analysis and preparation for senior management review meetings.
Manage open-to-buy, inventory, and receipt plans by forecasting and adjusting where appropriate.
Responsible for ad-hoc analysis and project work related to merchandise planning and execution.
Provide additional category business analyses related to merchandise, including assortment/product profit contribution and location planning.
Perform post-mortem analyses for seasonal events and strategies.
Participate in departmental strategic planning.
Scope: Manages merchandise planning for assigned retail merchandise categories in consumer direct.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience; 5-8 years of replenishment, forecasting or planning experience.
Proficient with merchandise planning systems and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access).
Solid analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in an ever-changing environment with efficiency and accuracy.
Flexibility in work schedule is also required for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends and extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
