We have a position for a writer with direct marketing experience who can express our brand's character and sell hard in four words or less. Okay, that's not completely true about the 4 words but if you're the right candidate you'll understand. There will be plenty of product content to write together with requisite specs, details and descriptions. But it's how you express the big ideas that counts the most; headlines, sub-heads, offer expression, top-line messaging. The winning candidate will understand the power of hearty benefit filled headlines and how to drive product and brand difference with an economy of words.

We're looking for a writer who has an abundance of creative energy and can produce a large volume of work. Communication, collaboration and team spirit are key; we enjoy working together for the common good, (sales dollars). A sense of urgency around priorities is expected, but we keep our cool and have fun with it. Needless to say, a good sense of humor is a plus. Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• Writes creative copy, proofs and edits copy for all forms of marketing and advertising, including print, digital and retail signage for Award winning and digital and traditional campaigns
• Collaborates with art directors, designers and merchants to determine project needs, using persuasive means to sell concepts and strategies that will activate consumer interest and translate to sales

• Presents concepts, strategies and their execution effectively and persuasively within the creative services group and to larger corporate audiences that are creatively fresh & compelling but strategically sound and brand appropriate

• Assists internal clients by reviewing creative briefs to ensure project goals and requirements are well articulated, compelling and
• grammatically sound

• Gains an understanding of the product and customer by researching and working with consumer insights, brand, and external resources to ensure creative concepts, tactics and copy are on tone and brand appropriate

• Monitors effectiveness of campaigns

• Researches commerce, popular culture and advertising trends and techniques to aid in developing up to date messaging; Maintains an understanding of the competitor and translates this information into sound concepts and copy. Creates engaging user experiences that inspire the audience to engage with our brand

• Proofreads for accuracy and brand tone

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

• BA in creative writing, journalism, advertising or related field
• 5-7 years’ experience in advertising, marketing communications, digital or retail – agency or in-house
• Exceptional writing skills; strong conceptual skills; ability to write for multi-media audiences
• Energetic and capable of participating successfully in a very fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to perform under pressure and produce high quality work
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously without losing focus
• Collaborative, team-oriented and capable of thriving in a group work environment
• Accepts and learns from constructive criticism and responds positively and quickly with proper solutions
• Proficient in mac, MS office and has a familiarity with adobe creative suite
