Summary The Copy Director will lead Madison Brands' copy efforts, providing excellent leadership and execution for all aspects of content creation. Partnering with our Creative, Marketing and Merchandising departments, the right candidate will ensure that his/her team is delivering on-brand content across channels (print, web, retail). S/he will have the energy to inspire, the experience to lead, and the ability to produce excellent creative results. The right candidate will thrive in an environment of high-volume, quick-turn creative and will enjoy actively contributing both strategic and tactical solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
•Proof and edit all content for all channels across our portfolio of brands ' including web, print, social media and PR arenas
•Recruit, train, manage and develop editorial staff (staff and contractors); evaluate performance, assign appropriate tasks and duties to ensure on-time delivery of projects
•Work closely with copy team and across departments to develop content that effectively meets both copy standards AND voice/brand standards
•Oversee the implementation and/or evolution of editorial voice standards for each brand
•Stay abreast of content trends (in web and print copywriting, SEO, video, social media) and continually recommend ways to optimize the mix of content types to maximize brand awareness, engagement, traffic and/or conversion
•Manage teams responsible for each brand's content calendars ' ensuring strategies are sound and effectively communicated to all cross-functional partners
•Encourage continuous improvement of both editorial and publishing processes ' including optimizing content management systems and workflows to increase productivity

Qualifications:
The requirements listed below represent the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required, to perform job function:
•4 year degree in related field or equivalent work experience
•4-6 years experience managing editorial teams, including freelancers and full-time staff
•Excellent skills and proven experiences in copywriting, proofreading and editing
•Strong passion for and knowledge of content standards and trends (print, web, SEO, video, social media); catalog and ecommerce copy experience a real plus
•Demonstrated ability to lead, to work collaboratively and with all levels of management
•Strong collaboration and communication skills combined with a progressive and positive attitude
•Works well under pressure, deftly juggles deadlines, and multitasks effortlessly
•Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and content management systems
•Serve as an ambassador for the company's C.L.E.A.R. Values
