WHO WE ARE

At American Meadows, our primary focus is to be great at providing home gardeners with the products and knowledge they need to succeed. We work to accomplish this by combining top-quality products, a staff that’s passionate about what we do, the latest in technology and proven direct-to-consumer methods. Our business is growing through adding new products, creating new brands (such as SeedImpressions.com) and via acquisition (HighCountryGardens.com). We are also expanding to additional channels, such as an increased emphasis on wholesale opportunities. At our core, we work with gardeners – people engaged in a pursuit that brings joy, beautifies the world, supports the environment and often puts food on tables. If that sounds intriguing, read on…

OUR CHALLENGE

We have a lot of data and never enough hours in the day! Between financial information, ecommerce metrics, customer demographics, inventory needs and more, we struggle to bring it all together in a way that provides a clear picture of where we are and where we should go next.

WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU’D DO

You would be our data wrangler. Each data set has something to say, and we would look to you for clear and concise interpretation. You would not only translate the data into layman’s terms, but you’d also plot out its strategic implications and then champion your findings and recommendations.

The right candidate has the finance, data modeling and analytics experience to oversee our financials and budgets. You would also build inventory and marketing models. You must have a strong voice and would need to proactively identify ways that we can get better at what we do. We seek someone who challenges the status quo, yet is methodical in their approach to process improvement.

You would come in and quickly help improve our systems in ways that have a direct and measurable influence on both our top and bottom lines. In addition to traditional financial measures, your success would be gauged on metrics such as our efficiency in gaining new customers, our effectiveness in retaining existing customers and the speed and success-rates of new initiatives. Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who will work with our existing, collaborative staff and who will be a meaningful, strategic voice on the company’s leadership team.

Below is a basic overview of the responsibilities. If you or someone you know is interested then Step one is easy: Simply write a brief description of a relevant problem that you’ve encountered and how you used analytics and/or modeling to solve it.
