Major Purpose:

The Vermont Country Store seeks a seasoned direct marketing professional with at least seven years of experience in the business to consumer catalog industry. Reporting to the director of catalog marketing the individual will have mastery level skills in several of the following areas: house and prospect circulation planning, customer acquisition, sales analysis and reporting, multi-channel contact strategies, sales forecasting and adjustments, and merge/purge,. The Senior Circulation Analyst will be accountable for achieving company objectives in regard to sales, expenses, and profitability.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop multi-channel contact strategies that optimize sales and marketing contribution and customer retention
• Create optimal prospect circulation plans that maximize prospecting universes including co-ops, outside lists, and house reactivation
• Work closely with list broker and co-op databases to recommend list tests and continuations based on P&L profitability and housefile build goals
• Develop and execute statistically valid promotional, creative, and circulation tests
• Data mine and execute customer file metric reporting such as migration, retention, buyer file growth projections and LTV
• Support marketing requests for ad hoc data analysis and CRM information
• Provide historical information and seasonal trend analysis of key marketing metrics
• Perform detailed customer analysis
• Create pro-formas by season that drive the annual budgets and forecasts
• Develop and maintain detailed sales forecasts for each catalog season, title and channel
• Develop and track individual curves; maintain curve libraries with historical data and develop new curves as necessary
• Assist in the planning, design, validation and implementation of housefile models
• Oversee and manage customer database including: analysis, extracts, updates
• Manage match back process and analysis
• Design, manage, and execute all mail merge
• Power user of IValue and SmartFocus reporting tool

Qualifications:
• 3 - 5+ years of direct marketing experience with business-to-consumer catalog retailer(s)
• Five + years of direct marketing experience developing, implementing and analyzing database/ direct marketing programs with a multi-channel retailer.
• Bachelor’s degree
• Must have experience with key industry metrics
• Power user in Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience with database query software and languages, such as SQL
• Must have proven experience in driving change and creating support across an organization
• Must possess excellent communication and organization skills
• Must be flexible and have the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
