TravelSmith Outfitters, located in Novato, just 30 minutes north of San Francisco, is the premier catalog and e-commerce retailer of travel apparel and accessories. We are currently searching for a VP of Marketing & E-Commerce.

Job Responsibilities:
• Grow core business by maximizing all aspects of catalog circulation and the web including optimal contact strategy, expanding prospect universe, utilization of non-traditional sources of names
• Lead business development efforts. Specifically in the expansion of travel related strategic partnerships
• Liaison between Corporate Call Center and TravelSmith. Lead training of a 100+ person Call Center
• Integrate new tools, technology and marketing best practices into our on-line business to insure we are staying ahead of competition and exceeding our customer’s expectations
• Lead the analysis that drives valuable insight into customer and non-customer behavior - both for Marketing applications and for other areas of the business especially merchandising and creative
• Participate in long range strategic planning and develop shorter range tactical plans to insure our continued success
• Develop and mentor marketing team. Make sure talent is in place, set lofty goals, and insure the team and its members succeed and grow
• Collaborate with other departments in “campaign” level marketing efforts, leading marketing team and peers in successful implementation thereof
• As a member of TravelSmith’s Management Team, participate in setting the overall direction of the company, protect its brand equity, respect its culture
• Work within CBI to share and implement best practices, reduce redundancies, share successes and opportunities
• Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• Bachelors degree in related field (MBA a plus)
• 12+ years in classical brand marketing with a meaningful entrepreneurial experience preferably in the direct to consumer arena
• 6+ year’s of senior management experience with full P&L responsibility
• Consummate knowledge of direct marketing with strong Web 2.0 experience
• Deeply ingrained experience with brand and branding aspects including voice and visual branding
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
• Very strong analytical skills including a strong foundation in basic applied statistics
• Leader – Demonstrated pattern of motivating and focusing a team of highly talented individuals.
• Team builder – Demonstrated ability for attracting key talent, define individual roles, develop and promote from within, create an esprit-de-corp.
