Garnet Hill, a growing high-end multi-channel marketer specializing in original designs in clothing and home dιcor is seeking a Assistant Product Manager for Home to join our team.

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Product Manager is the support person for the Associate Product Managers and Product Managers. S/he will participate in the seasonal
management of the merchandising and buying process for Garnet Hill’s private label and branded product, while gaining the experience and knowledge to merchandise, assort and manage a merchandise mix consistent with Garnet Hill’s standards and image.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in creating and maintaining all season assortment plans in the Product Planning System
• Participate in seasonal planning and concept meetings
• Manage the communication of all assortment changes to the Merchandising team members and all appropriate departments
• Proof catalog and web content for core information and accuracy
• Manage the branded photo sample process, providing direction to the Merchandise Assistant on tracking as appropriate
• Oversee the preparation and coordination of product reviews, merchandising meetings, outfit reviews, creative and marketing turnovers, and ranking meetings
• Partner with Product Development to create reports for merchandise meetings and swatch books for color release as required
• Work with Product Managers to develop boards by season and ensure consistency between boards and Planner page layouts
• Communicate with branded vendors regarding costs, sampling, and product information
• Begin to take initiative/ownership for entire merchandising process in designated branded areas, including but not limited to managing, under supervision, the growth and development of assigned product categories
• Keep abreast of market and design trends
• Must maintain complete knowledge and understanding of all Web and Production calendars to ensure accuracy and adherence to seasonal timelines
• Must maintain complete familiarity with seasonal layouts and all products designed for catalog and web inclusion.
• Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors degree in Merchandising, Fashion Design or related field and/or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years proven success in similar merchandising related role

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word)
• Working knowledge in InDesign a plus

SKILLS:
• Strong creative and conceptualization skills with an appreciation for the importance of visual communication
• Must be passionate about the merchandising business
• Ability to adapt product and business trends to the expectations of the Garnet Hill customer
• Strong process management and analytical skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Extremely high attention to detail and excellent follow through
• Ability to react to a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment
