Reports to: Digital Design Supervisor
Status: Full-time exempt position
As the Email Production Specialist, you will support production of Road Scholar’s email campaigns, blogs, discussion boards, CMS-based website and other digital communications. This is not a content writing role, it is design exclusively. The Email Production is responsible for the design and execution of responsive design and development of email, ensuring projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Experience in coding HTML for email, responsive email design, overall experience in coding using HTML/CSS, and Adobe Creative Suite experience are required. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of user experience, be passionate about design and clean typography, and have a vision for how these can be best applied in both email and web. Additional responsibilities for this role include updating/publishing web content, including but not limited to product photos, content pages, blogs and more.
RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE:
- Design and deploy daily emails and testing of new creative concepts across multiple digital channels, including but not limited to: Road Scholar emails, website, and digital customer communication.
- Translate ideas and manuscripts into polished digital content.
- Act as point-person and in-house expert for digital content platforms and supporting software
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of email, web and/or digital design experience
- Experience with content management systems and web and email publishing (familiarity with Responsys and Episerver a plus).
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive email design;
- Meticulous attention to details; strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with best practices in digital user experience and online marketing
- Macintosh software proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (namely Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Illustrator); ability to crop, edit and color-correct images in Photoshop
- Knowledge of SEO best practices a plus
- Understanding of brand identity and willingness to comply with branding guidelines
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with Macs.
- Interest and skill in clean typography and design
- Strongly team-oriented; energetic; quick learner; ability to create and maintain good working relationships
- Maturity and polished communication skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take direction, meet deadlines and prioritize jobs
- Interest in educational travel or non-profit preferred
