Summary
The Lead Analyst is responsible for forecasting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting product demand for multiple business channels to meet the company’s strategic goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Forecasting & Analysis
• Use software to accurately process, predict and analyze specific factors relating to product demand, promotions, creative presentations and seasonality.
• Perform all job duties as outlined in the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Periodically analyze data with standard statistical methods, researching and interpreting results, providing a written summary of data analyses and recommendations for modifying the current inventory and forecasting methodologies and approach.
• Maintain data integrity, structure, and components in multiple applications and systems.
• Assist and test system upgrades and new releases.
• Meet all deadlines including those on the Catalogue Production Schedule.
• Develop strong partnerships with vendors to meet all business needs.


Reporting
• Generate, review, submit, and distribute standardized and ad hoc analysis and reporting.
• Record, maintain, and track various inventory metrics.


Team
• Collaborate with all other departments and cross functional teams to encourage best practices and resolve issues and concerns.
• Keep up to date with industry knowledge through reading, active participation in professional associations, networking and interaction with vendors.
• Network with the key software support team’s and other software users to keep abreast of system changes and communicate system issues.
• Cross-train in the department to provide back-up support to others, and train others as back up for own position.

Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities
• Provide support, direction and encouragement for skill development and succession planning.
• Develop a strong, cohesive team and foster collaboration across all departments. Identify team goals that are aligned with organizational strategy and inspire others to share the team’s vision.
• Provide frequent, specific, developmental feedback on performance so that employees know how they are doing, and provide an appropriate amount of balance of reinforcing and corrective feedback. Vary leadership style based on situation and avoid over and under supervision.
• Manage team’s participation in product and catalogue production processes.
• Use multiple sources to identify and recruit qualified candidates and ensure hiring decisions are consistent with the organization’s needs.
• Manage projects, and process improvement opportunities including identifying appropriate participants, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and expected outcomes for each.

Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, preferred.
• 7+ years’ experience in an inventory planning or management role.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an aptitude to learn applications and be proficient in:
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Outlook or other email application

Authority
The Lead Analyst has the authority to do whatever is necessary to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the position without prior approval from their Director unless extending beyond the following parameters:

• Revise the compensation or status of any employee.
• Commit the company to inventory purchases over established amount.
• Commit the Company to any general expense.
• Alter, change or ignore established policy or image of the company.
• Alter, change or ignore information channels and controls to and from other departments.
• Alter, change or ignore accuracy controls within departments.
