The company operates 30 stores (with two new locations under construction) in 13 states, sells on-line through sunandski.com and is headquartered at 10560 Bissonnet Street-Houston, Texas 77099 (near I-59 and Beltway 8 interchange).

We are currently searching for an innovative Director of Marketing. This is an amazing opportunity for a dynamic candidate who has significant experience and knowledge of digital, as well as, traditional media. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a retail and/or e-commerce environment and is looking for a larger, multi-market Omni-channel challenge!

Position Overview

The Director of Marketing (DOM) is responsible for the building of the Sun & Ski brand, which includes marketing of southern ‘all sports’ format, northern ‘ski and patio’ format and Joe Jones Sun & Ski ‘resort’ format. In addition, the DOM is responsible for web site marketing for sunandski.com and a future outdoor lifestyle furniture site.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage store marketing, including in-store, as well as, external marketing.
• Coordinate web marketing, including implementing new capabilities on new enterprise platform (MOZU).
• Develop and direct digital media strategies for social platforms and make recommendations for new digital techniques.
• Implement media strategy to accomplish ‘dual mandate’ of immediate traffic response and brand
building.
• Direct SEO and other techniques to maximize organic e-commerce traffic.
• Build affiliate relationships, develop strategies and offers to optimize business segment.
• Champion creative marketing/advertising agency relationships, while coordinating in-store and media requirements with keen eye towards effective response.
• Monitor and report on e-mail productivity, directing merchants, marketing/advertising vendors and
e-commerce team in ways to grow the business.
• Oversee traditional media buying, including print, outdoor, radio and television.
• Implement Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) system and maintain CRM database
• Create CRM mail and e-mail strategy and tactics.
• Review store traffic and conversion on a regular basis to understand effectiveness of media and
messages.
• Drive store traffic of both return of existing customers and prospects.
• Regularly interface with store and district management to solicit feedback and ideas
• Supervise relationship with strategic marketing partners

Qualifications:
Candidate Requirements:

• Proficient with both traditional and digital media
• Analytical and problem solving skills, as well as, attention to detail a must
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Successful history of building highly effective teams and executing marketing strategies
• Passion for activities such as ski/snowboard, cycling, water sports, surf/swim, skate/skateboard and
outdoor a PLUS
