The Director of Photography/Brand Content and their team work in collaboration with the Design Director, Copy Team, Creative Production, Merchandising and Marketing staff to deliver content that leverages our unique Orvis brand, inspires and motivates our customers and helps achieve business goals. The Director of Photography and Brand Content will lead the Brand Design and Content team. This team of art directors and designers serve three primary functions:
1) Deliver creative assets, including but not limited to, photography, video, logos and graphics that can be used across all channels and markets.
2) Execution of corporate collateral including retail packaging and in-store marketing.
3) Partnering with the Creative Director, Design Director and Copy Manager to develop Seasonal Concepts and Brand Standards.

Company Interfaces:
This position will report to the Vice President –Creative Director and will work in direct partnership with the Design Director-Catalog/Internet, Creative Production group. The Director of Photography/Brand Content will supervise Art Directors, Graphic Designers (and Merchandise Coordinators). There will be significant exposure to and communication with executive management and a high level of collaboration with Merchandising and Marketing staff at many levels.

Responsibilities:
• Work with the VP-Creative Director, Design Director and Copywriters to help develop creative direction, photography, videos and campaign elements that communicate our brand strategy and product messaging in an integrated way across channels (catalog, internet, retail and social) in both the US and UK.
• Support and execute creative vision that reinforces the Orvis brand’s purpose, personality and beliefs.
• Oversee, direct and improve the creative process with the goals of producing the highest quality photography, video, graphics and content on time and within budget constraints.
• Lead art directors, designers and merchandise coordinators. Inspire their work, develop their talents, and advance their contributions to achieve business goals.
• Meet the business objectives of the organization and advance our brand strategy.
• Develop strong partnerships with Merchandising and Marketing teams to achieve their communication objectives and financial goals.

Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
• 2+ years’ experience managing direct reports within a creative team
• Extensive experience with photography direction (on model and still); this experience needs to include women’s apparel
• Collateral design experience including retail packaging and signage.
• Management and leadership skills; significant experience with developing creative talent and improving design processes to improve quality and efficiency
• A proven track record at successful implementation of creative concepts and campaigns in a multi-channel environment is strongly preferred
• Well-developed appreciation for the power of a brand
• Extensive experience and knowledge of technical and traditional art processes and production pipelines
• Must have strong communication skills, a positive and professional attitude and a passion to collaborate
• Undergraduate degree in Fine Arts or related field or equivalent visual design and management experience preferred
