The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the success of our email marketing program as well as the implementation of our B-to-C catalog mailings. They will plan, launch, and report on all email marketing campaigns. They will also manage the catalog mailing preparation process from start to finish. This position requires a high level of passion for direct marketing and a high level of curiosity to troubleshoot problems and test new methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Email Sales: Drive sales through email marketing. Manage segmentation, merchandising, cadence, themes, frequency, delivery rates, and other aspects of email marketing to maximize our profit in this channel. A/B test new features and backtest current methods. Optimize our automated trigger email program. Manage the relationship between Brookstone and our Email Service Provider and manage initial contract negotiation as needed. Manage the email expense budget. Run constant competitive analysis.

Catalog Mailing Preparation: Manage merge/purge process for catalog mailings to ensure timely in-home delivery. Work with outside list and mail processing vendors and analytics team to meet deadlines and troubleshoot and report variances. Make final selects out of merge and communicate printing instructions to the printer.

Email Address Acquisition and Retention: Grow the email file with responsive, profitable new email signups. Work with the store operations team to capture emails in stores, and work with website team to capture emails in various areas on the site. Monitor and report on file size and opt out survey. Find new ways to add value to the email subscriber to keep our customers from opting out.

Qualifications:
Essential:
• 4 year college degree or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in email marketing.
• Catalog mail preparation experience.
• Strong computer skills are required; proficiency with MS Word and Excel is a must.
• Candidates will have solid analytical and communication skills.
• Candidates will have a proven record of meeting deadlines.
• Candidates will be able to work both independently as well as on a team.
• Be able to manage working on multiple project, tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment.

Desired

• Prior Internet marketing experience a plus.
• Experience managing an email RFP is a plus.
• Prior customer database experience is a plus.
• Prior experience managing a direct report is a plus.
