Our unique business environment presents a number of unique computing challenges. Our core business systems include a 100% home-grown ERP solution running on an IBM i, a highly customized WebSphere Commerce solution also running on an IBM i, and assorted Windows, Linux and Mac based resources (running predominately in a VMware virtualized environment) to support a wide variety of other business functions. Our environment includes a variety of languages (RPG, PHP and Java) and an assortment of software packages and hardware. Keeping it all running smoothly is a strong, committed, experienced, professional staff.

Responsibilities:
Organize, direct, and administer department resources, including personnel, hardware and software, in order to efficiently meet the information needs of the organization. These efforts are in accord with the directives of the ERP Steering Committee and the Web Steering Committee and include close cooperation with users in the development and implementation of technology solutions.
• Develops, maintains and manages a staff of technically competent professionals to design, implement and operate the systems necessary to support the organization's goals.
• Leads the ERP and Web Steering Committee by both recommending and implementing IT policies, standards and procedures.
• Cooperates in the development of long-range plans in the formulation of goals consistent with the objectives of the organization.
• Analyzes all fiscal requirements for IT, including staffing, equipment, supplies and outside services. Prepares expense and capital budget recommendations, and monitors and reconciles their expenditure.
• Responsible for the performance, safety and security of the organization's IT hardware and software.
• Maintains an awareness of the latest technology trends and developments in the IT industry as they relate to organizational goals and objectives.
• Ensures that managerial talent is developed, primarily from within the organization, and specifies feasible career paths for subordinates.

Qualifications:
Education/experience requirements:
• Four year degree or equivalent experience which includes advanced courses in computers, management techniques, project management and budgeting.
• Six or more years of Information Technology experience including IT management, application development, infrastructure support, networking, web site development and systems security. Experience with the IBM i is a plus.
