The Director of Customer Information Technology is responsible for delivering the highest quality business applications and system platforms to support the strategic deliverables of Coldwater Creek. This is both a strategic and hands-on position responsible for leading a nibble, start-up IT organization focused on delivering the results required by the business. It is critical that the individual in this role be a leading advocate for the business community as well as the Coldwater Creek customer experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Works closely with the department management leadership to identify and define major process and technology improvements in support of the strategic direction of Coldwater Creek.
• Works with the business leadership to develop, gain approval for, and implement a holistic IT application and platforms strategy.
• Manages a project team (composed of both business and IS associates) responsible for all phases of the project development and rapid implementation methodologies including analysis, design, testing, deployment, and implementation for the Coldwater Creek business. Implementations will be coordinated with strategic outsourced SaaS partners.
• Organizes and controls the activities of the project team; assigns personnel to the various aspects of the project and directs their activities.
• Responsible for project planning, scheduling, estimating, communications and project budgets.
• Coordinates change management activities including new business process training, new technology training and user documentation.
• Ensures that project deliverables are successfully transitioned from the project to production and ongoing operations in the functional area that is the business owner of the deliverable.
• Serves as a liaison between IT and the business units. Keeps the business units abreast of activities within IT relevant to their projects.



This individual has the authority to recommend the purchase of hardware, packaged software systems and consulting services in a SaaS model needed for tactical and strategic distributed business system projects with guidance and approval from the executive team.

Qualifications:
•Broad experience in retail and direct to consumer industry with primary focus on IT technical and application solutions.
•Project management experience with medium and large complex information technology business projects in a cross-functional environment from start to finish.
•Strong team leadership and team building skills.
•Ability to communicate at all levels.
•Very strong conceptual, analytical, judgment and communication abilities are critical.
•Thorough understanding of project management process and methodology with comprehensive practical experience in execution.
•Experience with working within a SaaS model and managing key vendor relationships.
•Specific experience working within a MS AX backend environment and DemandWare frontend environment.
•Exhibit strong profit orientation and have the ability to achieve results through others.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

•BA or BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from four-year college or university; and seven to ten years related business experience with progressive leadership, project management and vendor relationship management.
